Martial Art and Dance

The Chinese pronunciation of Martial Art and Dance are the same (Wu). Both activities consume considerable energy. Dressing is important in the speed of movement and reduction of energy consumption. Kunoichi wears bodystocking, so does a female dancer.

This is not quite right for Japanese martial arts (Judo, Sumo, Kendo .etc)

The dress or uniform for is actually a part of a ceremony, which the Japanese word "Do" means.

Back then, Judo and Karate are both modified from Chinese fighting skill too
